wRiTeR’s R♥♥M | Pura Vida! | Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday
“If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As we soon approach the 57th Presidential Inaugural Ceremony for out 45th President, President Barack H. Obama. Our Nation will also celebrate the observance of Rev., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 21st.
In honor of Dr. King’s actual birthday (which is today, January 15th). This is the year, I AM going to be the change I wish to see in the world. Sharing a few quotes that have meaning for me, both personal and professional is my way to start.
“We are confronted with the fierce urgency of Now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time.” ~excerpt from “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence” (Riverside Church, New York City – April 4, 1967)
(I thought of this quote, below, for the lives taken at the elementry school in Newton, Ct. and Trevon Martin. As well as the many lives taken in the past from other horrific mass shootings.)
“I’ve decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” ~Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
