Culture Vulture: Beauty & Hair Trends of #NYFW

HAUTE MUSE SOCIAL | CULTURE VULTURE | #NYFW BEAUTY & HAIR TRENDS

Phew *wipes brow* so how ’bout those fashion shows, huh?

City Muse’s style and beauty section, Haute Muse Social, is introducing a new segment called CULTURE VULTURE, which will introduce the trickle up or trickle down fashion trends or fads happening in pop culture all over the world.

If you were able to attend in person or view the live shows on the internet from where ever you were.  The shows were awesome this season.  Whimsical and magical moments, vampy red lips that complimented all skin tones, mod styles, leathers, furs, animal prints, origami textures, floral prints, etc.  Behind the runways make-up artisans complimented the collections with muted smokey eyes giving off a warm coolness around the eyes, added vibrant color for a cat eye look and metallic eye shadows or a pearlized look to add depth to the eyes.    Oh and of course the “no makeup” makeup look too. Which will be a popular beauty trend for the brides-to-be.

Jason Wu, receiving another surprising opportunity to design for the First Lady another gorgeous gown for the inaugural ball.  Yet again I enjoyed viewing his F/W 2013-14 collection.  I like the color eye makeup his models wore in the show.  It reminded me of the blue and purple colors Michelle Obama and her daughters wore during the inaugural ceremony.

In the photo below, Chanel Iman wears a smokey blue-violet cat eye, a rosy blush on her cheek bones that’s a  tiny shade darker than her natural skin tone and bare lips with a soft natural sheen on the runway at Jason Wu’s fashion show.

Behind the scene at Donna Karen’s show, models wore metallic smokey eyes with a nude lip color.

Carolina Herrera‘s 40’s inspired rolled-up retro hairstyles for her F/W 2013-14 show.

Carolina Herrera - NYFW (f-w 2013-14)

Outside of Lincoln Center, vintage was not only on the runway at Carolina Herrera but outside as well.  I could not resist taking a few shots of this woman’s vintage look and her cat eye makeup.  I loved her necklace and faux fur cropped coat too!

I loved her sleek ponytail and “no makeup” makeup look — pretty, natural and effortless.  She also wore these AMAZING blue stilettos which I will post later.

At the Nicole Miller show, one of the models walked the runway with vibrant multicolored layers flowing down her shoulders.

Below I was able to capture a young woman who breezed by me, like the cold chilled air that day, rocking a platinum blonde and electrifying blue asymmetrical bob haircut.  I apologize for the blurred photo but I did say she breezed by me, lol.
